Clare Bootle

I have over 15 years of experience providing psychological interventions and emotional support within the NHS to people who struggle with mental health and emotional difficulties.

n 2009, I completed a professional psychological therapy training at University of Exeter (MSc Psychological Therapies) and since this time I have worked within a psychological therapies service providing NHS funded Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for individuals, psycho-educational groups and providing clinical supervision to staff within the team. I have completed certificate level supervision training for Psychological Well-being

Practitioners and Psychological Therapists as part of the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) training programme. I have also worked as a research therapist as part of a randomised-controlled trial (RCT) at University of Exeter. This study investigated Cognitive Behavioural Therapy as an adjunct to pharmacotherapy for treatment resistant depression in primary care. The results were published in 2012 and has informed recent updates of NICE guidance for treatment resistant depression.

As an accredited therapist with British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), I adhere to the BABCP Standards of Conduct, Performance & Ethics. As part of my professional responsibilities, I am also required to receive regular clinical supervision by an appropriately trained and experienced Psychological Therapist. I also provide CBT training to health and social care staff across the UK.
